Spinach Patties

Ingredients for:
Spinach Patties

  • 200 g spinach
  • 1 potato (large)
  • 2 eggs
  • 40 g walnuts
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & pepper


To prepare these spinach patties, first cook the potato in boiling water for 15 minutes. Then drain and peel the potato. Next, soak the walnuts in lukewarm water for 10 minutes and then drain them.

Now in a food processor add the spinach, potato, garlic clove, eggs, salt and pepper and mix them until they are completely combined. Then chop the walnuts with a knife and add it to the prepared mixture. Don’t add the walnuts in the food processor because by chopping them, the crunchiness of them will make the patties even tastier. Mix all ingredients in a bowl.

Then add the olive oil to a 14 cm non-stick saucepan over medium heat. Add the prepared mixture gently into the saucepan and press it with a spoon to flatten it into 1 cm thick patties. And fry them for about 4 or 5 minutes on each side or until they develop a brown crust. While frying them if needed, add more oil to them.
