Instructions for donuts
To prepare these donuts, first take both milk and butter out of the fridge because they must be at room temperature. Then pour all the ingredients into the mixing bowl of a stand mixer with dough hook attachment and mix them on medium speed for 10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic (If you don’t have a stand mixer, you can first mix all the ingredients in a bowl and then slightly flour your work surface and knead the doug for about 15 minutes by hand). If the dough is sticky, add a little more flour to it.
After 10 minutes, round the dough into a ball and transfer it in a lightly oiled bowl. Then cover it with plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes or until it is doubled in size.
Now slightly flour your work surface, transfer the proved dough to it and knead the dough by hand for about 2 minutes. Then with a rolling pin, spread evenly and roll the dough to 1 cm thickness. Next, cut the parchment paper into small square pieces first, and then cut the donuts with a donut cutter or a cookie cutter. After that, palce them on parchment papers and let donuts rise for second time for 10 minutes.
In order not to distort donuts when frying them, it is convenient to put them in the oil with the parchment paper where they have been raised. Then fry donuts in vegetable oil over medium heat (160 ºC) for about 1 minute on each side until they are golden. It is important that the oil is not too hot or cold when you are frying them.
For coating donuts, you can use sugar and melted chocolate but make sure to roll them into sugar while they are still warm.
