Ingredients for Rice Pudding

Rice Pudding recipe
  • 100 g short-grain white rice
  • 500 ml whole milk
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 tbsp strawberry marmalade
  • 50 g sugar
  • 1 tbsp rose water
  • 1tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt


Peel half of the lemon with a vegetable peeler. In a medium-sized saucepan over medium-high heat, bring the milk, lemon zest, sugar and salt to a boil.

Then wash the rice 3 or 4 times until its water runs clear.

As soon as bubbles start to appear on the surface of the milk, lower the heat to a minimum and add the rice to it. Stir frequently to prevent the rice from sticking to the bottom of the saucepan, it will take 35-40 minutes until the rice is tender and the pudding is thick and creamy.

Now remove the saucepan from the heat, discard the lemon zest and stir in the rose water. Serve the pudding with the strawberry marmalade and sprinkle with cinnamon.

Note: adding lemon zest to the milk will make it more aromatic and tastier as well. It is better to use short grain rice when making rice pudding because it will come out more creamy.
