Falafel With Vicia Fava

  • 250 g Vicia Fava (Yellow Fava)
  • 25 g Green or red paprika pepper
  • 150 g Bread crumbs
  • 1 Onion
  • 4 Cloves of garlic
  • 1 Tomato
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Red Pepper Powder
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 125 ml Water
  • 125 ml Olive oil


Soak the vicia fava for 12 hours, then drain it. In a food processor add the fava, tomatoe, onion, garlic, paprika pepper, water and olive oil. After the ingredients are completey mixed, in a bowl add to your mix; the salt, red pepper, baking powder and bread crumbs. Mix it well and let it in the fridge for 2 hours. Then make ball shapes of the paste and fry them in olive oil.

Tip: You can also make Falafel with chickpeas.
