What is Okra?

Okra is high in soluble and insoluble fibers. The fiber in the okra has been linked to several benefits, such as optimal digestive function, low cholesterol levels, reduced risk of heart disease, and weight control. Because fibrous foods are more challenging to digest, one feels more satisfied eating them.
At the same time, the okra is full of nutrients. It has vitamin C, 36 percent of the recommended daily value. Increasing your intake of foods rich in vitamin C can support your immune system, prevent free radical damage, and can help regulate blood pressure.

Okra is also a good source of vitamins, in particular, such as vitamin B6 and other B vitamins. For example, niacin, thiamine, and pantothenic acid.
High levels of vitamin A and flavonoids like beta-carotene, xanthine, and lutein are also found in the okra. These nutrients are associated with good vision, skin and mucous membrane health, and even increased protection against cancer.
