Ingredients for:
Vegetarian Pizza

For pizza topping:

  • 1 red paprika
  • 1 long green pepper
  • 8 mushrooms
  • 1 spring onion
  • 6 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp oregano
  • 400 g grated mozzarella

For pizza dough:

  • 250 g flour
  • 150 ml lukewarm water
  • 1 packet dry yeast (7 g )
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instruction for vegetarian pizza

This home made vegeterian pizza recipe is for 2 pizzas of 30 cms and first we prepare the pizza dough. Therefore in a big bowl add the flour, dry yeast, salt and sugar and use a wooden spoon to mix them well. Then add the lukewarm water gradually to the bowl and start to knead the dough by your hand more or less for 5 minutes. Continue kneading until the dough is forming into an elastic ball and it pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Now lightly dust your hands with flour and form the pizza dough into a round ball and transfer it to a clean bowl brushed with olive oil. Then cover the bowl with plastic wrap and leave it in a warm place. Allow dough to rise for 45 minutes or until it is doubled in size.

Meanwhile we prepare the pizza toppings. First chop the red paprika and long green pepper in julienne. Then slice the mushrooms and chop the spring onion as well.

After 45 minutes and once the dough has risen, gently deflate it using your hands and divide it into two equal parts. Then transfer the doughs to a lightly floured surface and knead about 3 minutes. Use your hands or a rolling pin to shape the doughs into 30 cm rounds. Now transfer doughs to parchment paper lined pizza pans.

It is time to add the toppings for the vegetarian pizza; add in equal parts all the prepared ingredientes to each dough. First add the tomato sauce and spread it with a spoon to cover the doughs. Then add 100 g of mozzarella cheese on each dough. After that, add the red paprika and long green pepper, spring onion and mushrooms in equal amounts to each dough. Also add the oregano and the rest of the mozzarella cheese on top of all the ingredients.

Finally bake the vegetarian pizzas in preheated oven to 220 ºC for 30 minutes.
