Mixed Cabbage Salad

Ingredients for Mixed Cabbage Salad

Mixed cabbage salad recipe, the ingredients for the cabbage salad, a head of white cabbage in a basket and three carrots and dill branches, next to a bowl of raisins, a lemon, an egg, alcaparas and a little oil of olive.
  • 250 g white cabbage
  • 60 g raisins
  • 50 g capers
  • 4 carrots
  • 25 g dill
  • 1 egg
  • 1 lemon
  • 150 ml sunflower oil
  • Salt & pepper


To prepare this salad, first peel and then grate the carrots. After that, mince the dill. Next, chop the white cabbage into long thin strips.

Making the homemade mayonnaise

In a large measuring cup add the oil, egg, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Then place the electric hand blender all the way to the bottom of the measuring cup. Then turn it on and hold it still. Don’t move it! After just 30 to 40 seconds, you will see the mayonnaise being made. Then slowly in circular pattern, raise the blender to the surface and your homemade mayonnaise is ready.

Now in a large bowl, mix the shredded cabbage with carrots, raisins, capers, dill and homemade mayonnaise. Your salad is ready to serve.

Note: if you prefer, you can use olive oil or avocado oil instead of sunflower oil to make the mayonnaise. But the most important thing is that homemade mayonnaise tastes better and it is healthier than the store-bought.
